Sladechild Foundation Charitable Trust

Frequently Asked Questions

How can you maintain a 100% charity? Won't you go broke? Our 100% policy is very important to us, as it is to all people who are looking for a charity that will apply their hard-earned donation money to the cause that they are trying to support. As a charitable organization, we do have "overhead" expenses -- postage, computer hosting, office supplies, temporary office help, etc. We pay all of these overhead expenses from our "administrative" fund, which is separate from our 100% Children's Fund. Each trustee of the SladeChild Foundation donates $50.00 per month to our Administrative ("Admin" for short). In addition, the interest collected on our trust accounts is also placed in to the Admin Fund. In this way, all of the money in the Admin Fund comes from trustees or interest on our accounts -- not from you! And all of our bills are paid out of the Admin Fund. Of course, not every charity can be a 100% charity, but the SladeChild Foundation stands as a sterling example that it can be done!

Can I donate to a certain project or country? Absolutely. Simply earmark your check, or include a note with your donation telling which specific project or country you would like to support. In this way, your donation will help the children that you designate.

Where does my money go if I don't earmark my donation? We deposit all non-earmarked donations from the general public in the 100% Children's Fund. This money is granted out on a monthly basis to each and every children's relief project that we support. None of your un-earmarked donation would ever be used for administrative expenses.

Is my donation fully tax deductible? To all U.S. citizens, Yes. In January of each year you will recieve a letter from us informing you of how much you donated to the SladeChild Foundation during the previous year. Donations from supporters in Canada are likewise fully tax deductible.

Can I remain anonymous? Of course. If you would like to remain anonymous with your donation to the SladeChild Foundation, as many of our donors do, you may simply mail us a money order, bank check or post office check. It is not recommended to send cash through the mail, however. In any event, your anonymity will be assured.

Are your financial reports publicly available? Yes, the 2009 IRS forms and the independent audit are online here. If you need a hardcopy of our IRS financial Report (Form 990 and all schedules) or our most recent financial audit, you can print it from this website or you may request one by e-mail or by calling us. The reports are available at no cost. Our 2010 financial reports will be posted as soon as they become availible.

The SladeChild Foundation is registered with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) publicly supported charity, EIN 93-0822726.
