Elem. and Middle Schools
At risk boys and girls are provided with after-school mentoring programs at 3 elementary and middle schools. High school students are assisted on an individual basis. Mentors provide emotional guidance, help with homework, and assistance in developing life skills. Students come from low income neighborhoods with high levels of crime, drug use, violence and unemployment. Single mothers are the norm. The extra support and intervention helps many students gain a sense of hope and future for their lives. Partnering with Acts4Youth, SladeChild provides food and education.
